CEBU, PHILIPPINES – Saying there’s more to tiles than meets the eye, homegrown brand Cebu Home and Builders Centre (CHBC) will launch the Tile and Bath Festival starting October 4 until November 4, 2018 to showcase tiles artistry and bath trends.
With the theme, “Design + Technology = Sophistication”, the event will feature exciting shapes, patterns, and vibrant colors in tile and bath. One may discover the wonderful world of tiles under the following brands- Alaplana, B- Plus, Baldocer, Capucino, Cicogres, El Molino, Luxe, among others and exclusively the Cool Bath System.
In putting together the festival, CHBC goes back to its vision of bringing not only functional tiles but also works of art through the use of technology. CHBC’s passion for tiles began over twenty years ago as a search for a new product line for its mother company Cebu Oversea Hardware Co.
Since then, CHBC learned the various stages that go into the production of tiles from conceptualization, creation, and completion with better understanding of the evolution of tiles because of the four (4) S – size, shape, surface and structure.
“Tiles have long been known and used not only for their functionality but also for their artistry. Ancient structures are living proof.” said Product Development Manager Cye Pascual.
Ceramic tile art decorations have been traced to ancient Egypt while mosaic floorings and panels became famous in Europe and are used to decorate churches.
Pascual however, cited that technology brought the tiles industry to new heights. “Technology made possible the manufacture of tiles in various sizes and shapes for different applications and has become sophisticated over time,” she said.
Today, buyers are free to choose how their tiles look like. They could opt to choose natural materials, be minimalist or modern.
At the Tile and Bath Festival, CHBC CEO Michael C. Co will expound on the role and significance of the Festival in the construction and finishing industry as CHBC gathers architects, interior designers and contractors at the festival opening
